Head of Astrakhan police investigative department caught red-handed receiving $8400

Yuri Yanchenko, the Head of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Astrakhan, was detained receiving bribes.
The detention took place near the building of the Investigation Department, where the law enforcement officer works. There, Yarchenko agreed to meet with a local resident, who gave him 500 thousand rubles ($8400) as a bribe. For this money, the Lieutenant Colonel of Justice promised the bribe-giver to change the qualification of the prosecution in a criminal case that was in his production to a ‘softer’ article. The Head of the police investigation of Astrakhan was detained red-handed by the FSB officers.
Detention of Yanchenko
The Investigative Committee instituted criminal proceedings under Bribe-Taking (item (c), part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). An official check is carried out against Yanchenko.
