Head of anti-corruption department detained on suspicion of bribery
The Oryol policemen asked for $ 60,000 from a businessman threatening to initiate theft and fraud cases against him.
In Oryol, the FSB officers detained two high-ranking police officers, who received 2 million rubles ($ 30,000) of the agreed four ($ 60,000) from a local entrepreneur. For the bribe, the policemen promised not to bring the head of a commercial organization to criminal responsibility for theft and fraud, the ICR reports. According to Kommersant, the detainees are the head of the MIA department of economic security and countering corruption for the Oryol Region, Fedor Kozin and his subordinate Pavel Klenyshev.
The detention operation was held with the participation of the regional MIA’s Internal Security Department employees. A criminal case has been initiated over bribe-taking on a large scale (part 6 of Article 290 CCRF). The detainees were interrogated, their offices were searched.
Kozin was released on a written undertaking not to leave, the regional publication Oryolgrad reports. His status in the criminal case is unknown, the name of the entrepreneur who gave a bribe, the investigators also did not disclose.
