Head of Amur region's science town Tsiolkovsky arrested for large bribe
According to the ICR Investigations Directorate in the region, Nikolay Kokhno has received a bribe in the form of property.
Head of Tsiolkovsky closed autonomous territorial formation (Amur region) Nikolay Kokhno has been detained for 2 months, Interfax reports.
The election of a preventive measure in the form of detention until January 16, 2018 for the official was reported by Press-Secretary of the Blagoveschensk City Court Aleksandr Voronin.
According to Voronin, Nikolay Kokhno, suspected of taking a large bribe, has 3 days to appeal against the court decision.
Head of Tsiolkovsky administratiaon was detained on November 15. As reported by the ICR Investigations Directorate in the Amur region, a criminal case under part 6 of Art. 290 of the Russian Criminal Code (Bribe-taking by an official in the form of property on a large scale) has been initiated against Kokhno. Amur region media report that the official was detained red-handed. Three deputies of Nikolay Kokhno currently perform his duties.
It is reported that the crime was detected by employees of the FSB office in the Amur region. The details of the criminal case are not disclosed in the interests of the investigation, however, it is known that since the beginning of the year, 25 facts of abuse of authority have been recorded in the Amur region, the majority of those – in the Tsiolkovsky closed autonomous territorial formation at the Vostochny cosmodrome.
A large-scale purge of thieves in law, which started shortly after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s coming to power, continues in Armenia. After receiving threats of arrests, thieves were taken in custody for carrying weapons and drugs.
However, the thief, who is currently dividing the spheres of influence in Ukraine’s Odessa region with Antimoz Kukhilava through his representatives, has been sentenced in absentia. Mindiya Goradze is not in Georgia at the moment.
