Head of Regional police dept caught on bribe of $2 thousand
The law enforcement authority demanded money from his colleague for a positive evaluation of work of the last during transfer to another region.
The head of the operational-search department of personal safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation across the Republic of Adygea was caught red-handed during bribe-taking. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reports about it.
According to the department, the law enforcement authority demanded money from his colleague, who needed recommendations for transfer to service in another region. The head of the department demanded to give him for this favor 150 thousand rubles ($2 thousand) through an intermediary, head of the economic security department and anti-corruption of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the Belorechensk district of the Krasnodar Region.
The police officer addressed the General Administration of Personal Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, after what told his colleague that he was agree to conduct the transaction. As a result, the head and the intermediary were caught in flagrante delicto during bribe-taking. Both of them were sent under house arrest.
According to investigators, in May 2011, Vorotnikov ripped off several sock caps from uniformed policemen, threw them on to the roadway and stroked over the police officer's head twice during an unsanctioned rally.
