Gaizer’s defendants demand judge disqualification
The defender of the ex-Governor of Komi will demand removal of the judge of the Moscow City Court, who is conducting consideration of the investigation’s petition for extension of term of arrest of Vyacheslav Gaizer and other defendants in the case.
Lawyers claim that the decision on prolongation of arrest was made prior to the hearing itself.
Republic notes that the Moscow City Court extended term arrest to four defendants in the case of Vyacheslav Gaizer under names of other defendants.
The media reports about Head of Agrokompleks Igor Kudinov, entrepreneurs Valery Veselov and Mikhail Hruzin, and also about former Deputy Head of the Komi Government Konstantin Romadanov. In the resolution, which was handed out to lawyers, there are surnames of other defendants, the trial upon whom had not taken place yet. What means that the decision was prepared in advance.
To recall, under the case of creation of organized criminal grouping in the management of the Republic of Komi, except the listed above officials, there are ex-heads of the republic Torlopov and Gaizer, Deputy Head of Komi Chernov, Chairman of the State Council Kovzel, Vice-President of the Government Romadanov and some other officials and entrepreneurs – in total 18 people.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
