FSB General Tkachev to be interrogated
The interrogation is scheduled for next week.
Investigators of the military prosecutor's office are going to interrogate the head of the “K” Directorate of the FSB, Major General Ivan Tkachev, as part of the pre-prosecutorial investigation into corruption reports, says TASS. According to the agency, investigators scheduled Tkachev’s interrogation at the request of Alexander Shestun, the former head of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region.
According to Shestun’s lawyer, Oleg Shlyakhov, Tkachev’s interrogation will be held next week.
Shlyakhov said that in May 2019, the 235th garrison military court of Moscow granted Shestun’s request backed by the prosecutor's office and ordered the military investigative department to conduct an inspection of corruption offences committed by FSB officers.
According to the lawyer, on July 12, the investigator of the ICR, Konstantin Sidorov, asked Shestun to elaborate on his statements that Tkachev allegedly extorted money from him.
Alexander Shestun was arrested on June 14, 2018. In July 2019, the ICR indicted him. The former head of Serpukhov district is charged with major fraud, laundering money obtained by criminal means, illegal entrepreneurship and major bribery. The district administration was recognized as the victim in the case. Shestun pleaded not guilty.
