FSB detains Pskov vice governor suspected of privatization fraud
Alexander Kuznetsov supervised housing and public utilities, transport and road facilities, energy, communications and tariff setting.
FSB officers detained the vice governor of the Pskov Region, Alexander Kuznetsov. On Friday, December 14, investigators raided his workplace in the regional administration. The information was confirmed in the press release of the administration. The governor of the Pskov region, Mikhail Vedernikov, notes that the regional authorities are cooperating with law enforcement agencies.
Kuznetsov’s apartment was also searched, a source told Interfax.
Officially, the reason for the investigation is unknown. According to the Pskovskaya Guberniya, it could be associated with a multi-million-ruble embezzlement in the course of privatization.
Alexander Kuznetsov has been deputy governor since 2012. The official supervised housing and public utilities, transport and road facilities, energy, communications and tariff setting.
