On Friday morning, FSB officers came to the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Tyumen region. The security forces are conducting searches and seizure of documents, unnamed sources of Novy Den said.
According to one of them, an employee of the Investigation Department and operative of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Directorate has been detained. The intelligence agency is also interrogating the Tyumen head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yuri Altynov.
The Tyumen press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and FSB have not yet commented on the situation.
The Prosecutor General's Office had earlier accused the Moscow region’s ex-official of exceeding official authority, taking a bribe on an especially large scale, and forgery, and demanded to seize assets worth of 9 billion rubles ($135 million) from him.
