FSB arrests Khamovniki Chief Investigator
He is suspected of receiving a 2-million-ruble bribe.
Andrey Kruglyansky, the Chief Investigator in the Khamovniki district, has been detained for 48 hours. According to Life, he is suspected of receiving a bribe of 2 million rubles.
There’s information that Kruglyansky’s detention may be associated with Yulia Gorbacheva, the Khamovniki Deputy Prosecutor, who had been arrested before that and who tried to bribe the judge in 2015. The investigating authorities have found a new episode, where Kruglyansky becomes a suspect, informed a law enforcement source. The files have been transferred to the Moscow Investigative Committee Department.
May we remind you that according to the investigation, the family of one of the defendants offered Gorbacheva to act as intermediary during the transfer of a 3-million-ruble bribe. The woman had to negotiate with the federal judge who ran the case to deliver a more lenient sentence. The judge however chose to go to the Federal Security Service. The woman was detained red-handed while passing money.
In mid-July, thief in law Vitya Pan, as well as his accomplices Evgeny Titov aka Tit and Yaroslav Sokolov (aka Yarik) were declared federally wanted. Depending on their role in the commission of the crime, the defendants are suspected of creation of a crime community and participation therein (parts 1 and 2 of Art. 210 of the Russian Criminal Code), as well as of kidnapping and tortures.
