Former head of Nizhny Novgorod wanted
Oleg Kondrashov and his deputy are suspected of receiving 17 million rubles ($276.200).
Former Head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration Oleg Kondrashov is wanted, according to the ICR website. Kondrashov, as well as his former deputy, Vladimir Privalov, are suspected of taking a bribe on an especially large scale. A criminal case is initiated under part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code.
The investigation found that Kondrashov and Privalov received a bribe from a local businessman in the amount of 17 million rubles in 2012-2013. For this money, the businessman asked the official to patronize his business in the field of ceremonial services. The entrepreneur got a land plot on which he built a crematorium.
Oleg Kondrashov is currently put on the wanted list. His deputy and two mediators were detained. Businessmen Sergey Muravlev and Yuri Grishin were mediators. They are charged, the court has sent a petition for their arrest.
In 2015, the city Duma adopted a decision on the early resignation of Kondrashov in connection with criminal prosecution because of abuse of authority. The investigation believes that in 2014 the company TEK-NN was sold for 52 million rubles ($844.350), while the value of its assets exceeded 314 million ($5.1m).
