Moscow’s Gagarinsky Court found Oleg Korshunov, the former deputy director of the FSIN, guilty in the case of the theft of 263 million rubles ($ 4.1 million) in purchase of shoes for prisoners. Reading the sentence will take about five hours, and by nine in the evening the judge should announce the punishment for the defendant, RIA Novosti reports. 

According to investigators, in 2015, Oleg Korshunov, head of the FSUE Production Industrial House of the Federal Penitentiary Service Vitaly Morusov, and CEO of the Dace Group company Smbat Arutyunyan organized the production of footwear for prisoners and employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service, on which used 263 million rubles from the state budget. According to the contract, the shoes had to be made of leather, but in fact, they were made from cheap substitutes.

The state prosecution requested nine years of a general regime penal colony for Korshunov.
