First deputy head of Balashikha admits to accepting bribes
The official will be held in custody until October 22.
At a meeting in the Moscow City Court, Alexey Koval, first deputy head of the Balashikha administration, pleaded guilty to accepting 4-million-rubles’ worth of bribes. The court was considering an appeal for the arrest of the accused - he was left in custody until October 22, RIA Novosti reported.
According to investigators, since the summer of 2018, Koval took bribes from the CEO of Leader LLC for assistance in the field of road construction. Koval was arrested in late May on charges of especially large bribery (part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The searches and the initiation of criminal proceedings were preceded by complaints about the quality of the Balashikha roads.
