Figurant of Gaizer's case testified against former General Director of Vimpelcom Mikhail Slobodin
The ex-Deputy Chairman of the Komi Government Konstantin Romadanov gave testimony against Mikhail Slobodin that served as the basis for the pressing charges against the top manager.
The former Deputy Prime Minister of the Komi Konstantin Romadanov testified against the former General Director of Vimpelcom, said to the edition Interfax the lawyer of Slobodina Sergey Koptyakov. According to him, the only basis for the charges are merely evidence of three witnesses - Romadanov, Sadykov and Sokolov.
Recall that Romadanov, which himself is involved in the Gaizer case on 14 September made a deal with the investigation and testified against the former Head of the Komi Republic Vyacheslav Gaizer, who is suspected in the creation of the OCG, swindling, bribery and legalization of money.
On September 15th, the court of Syktyvkar in the Komi decided to arrest Mikhail Slobodin, who is outside of the Russian Federation, presumably in France, in absentia and declared him in an international warrant list.
Rosfinmonitoring (Federal Financial Monitoring Service) analyzed the data of the Panama Papers and the Paradise Papers and discovered thousands of offshore companies through which the Russians laundered billions of rubles. Materials on deputies and governors were handed over to law enforcers.
A spokesperson of the Prosecutor's office said that the ECHR had not studied all the materials of the criminal case, so they were offered not to overturn the verdict, but to send the case for a new review in court.
