Federal Security Service colonel Matveev released from remand prison
His defense team managed to convince court to soften his measure of restraint.
Moscow regional military court agreed with the defense team of a colonel of ’T’ directorate of the Federal Security Service - D.Matveev, reports Rosbalt with reference to a source within law enforcement.
In particular, the judge agreed with the lawyers’ arguments that taking into custody had been unfounded. It is unknown whether the colonel was released on bail or placed under house arrest.
According to data on the web site of the court, D.Matveev is accused under item 5 of article 290 of Russia’s Criminal Code (bribery taking). The media office of Moscow regional military court told Medizona that the court of appeal transferred an accused under this last name from the remand prison to house arrest.
Meanwhile, according to unofficial data, Matveev was arrested for taking 300 thousand from a man who wanted to be hired with security forces of Russian Railways. The Colonel of the Federal Security Service supervised these activities and approved candidates.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
