Federal Security Service carries out searches in administration of Pushkinsky district
Acting head of the administration Evgeny Zhirkov is rumoured to have been taken to a police division.
Moscow region’s investigators - with support of the Federal Security Service - have carried out searches in the administration of Pushkinsky district. Acting head of the administration Evgeny Zhirkov is rumoured to have been detained, reports PASMI.
“Law enforcers have seized documents and taken the official to a division. He has not returned to the office, yet,” source of PASMI said. So far, there’s no official information on Zhirkov’s detention.
Mash Telegram channel reports the searches are tied to the fact that a report on Zhirkov’s illegal enrichment arrived at the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow region from the Committee’s central board. Initiating of the criminal case is being considered.
The report is based on publication of data on Evgeny Zhirkov’s income. He had declared property worth of tens of millions. With that, this amount and this number of property had not earlier been indicated in the declaration of income, the channel notes.
Zhirkov had earlier been been a head of Moscow region’s Balashikha, but in June, 2017, he stood down at the background of a scandal related to a landfill site Kuchino and criticism by the All-Russia People's Front related to a half-constructed kindergarten. In January, this year, the official became the acting head of the the administration of of Pushkinsky district.
In late may, law enforcers detained the first deputy head of the administration of Moscow region’s Balashikha Aleksey Koval who was accused of receiving multimillion kick-backs from a major contractor of road construction.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
