FBS to seize Lexus belonging to Khoroshavin’s ex-wife
The Federal Bailiffs Service will seize Lexus LX 570 that belongs to Irina Korneeva, ex-wife of former Sakhalin Governor Aleksander Khoroshavin. The car is worth at least 6 million rubles.
The FBS has the court verdict to be executed by the institution, Life reported. The procedure has been scheduled for December 16. Ms. Korneeva has been warned, the FBS pointed out.
May we remind you that Aleksander Khoroshavin’s property as well as that of his ex-wife and son was forfeited to the state by the decision of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court on May 20. Among the confiscated things were upmarket apartments, luxury cars and jewelry. The property’s estimated worth was 1.1 billion rubles, which is, as the Prosecutor General's Office claims, significantly higher than Khoroshavins’ combined income. The former governor was not able to explain where exactly he got the money to purchase the expensive property.
On December 13, the media reported that the Sakhalin ex-Governor and his family were appealing against the confiscation in the Constitutional Court. Aleksander Khoroshavin wrote a letter to Vladimir Putin requesting to make the Prosecutor General and the Investigative Committee have no part in the Constitutional Court hearing.
The Sakhalin former Governor was arrested on suspicion of bribe-taking in March 2015. He was also charged with creation of a gang financed by Sakhalin businessmen. The investigation is completed, the accused and his defense are studying the case files.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) had seen plenty of scandals throughout its history. In the end of 2017, it ceased financing of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) on suspicion of misuse of funds by its management. However, the IOC couldn’t even think that international drug trafficker Gafur Rakhimov, member of the criminal ‘Brothers’ Circle’ put on the OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, is going to take charge of it soon. Furthermore, Rakhimov has contributed greatly to the selection of Sochi the place of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
