Family of Moscow Election Committee’s head turns out to have real estate by sea in Croatia
The official also owns a villa of 900 square meters worth at least 60 $ 950k in the Moscow Region.
The wife and son of Valentin Gorbunov, the head of the Moscow City Election Committee, own a business and expensive real estate in Croatia. After the company Ika Astra with a registered capital of $ 400 thousand was established, the family bought a five-room and two-room apartments in the resort town of Ika with a total area of approximately 200 square meters m, the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) writes.
According to FBK, the Gorbunovs established a business in Croatia in 2013. Two neighboring apartments in a house on the shore of the Adriatic Sea are registered for Ika Astra.
In addition, Gorubnov has a villa in the Moscow Region, the cost of which, together with the land plot, can be from 60 to 120 million rubles ($ 950.000 – 1,9 million). The area of of the property amounts to 900 square meters.
Gorbunov has been heading the Moscow Election Committee since 1994 and is not going to leave the post. “If they trust me, the Central Election Committee recommended me to the last composition, I believe that I still have the opportunity to pass on my experience and raise young people, prepare the new generation,” Gorbunov said at a press conference on the results of candidate registration for the autumn elections.
