Ex-Minister of Agriculture placed in detention in Perm
Ivan Ogorodov is a defendant in the case of embezzlement.
As TASS reports, former Minister of Agriculture for the Perm region Ivan Ogorodov has been placed in a temporary detention facility as a defendant in the case of embezzlement under Misappropriation, which had been initiated by the regional FSB administration.
The FSB administration had previously initiated a criminal case under part 4 of Art. 160 of the Russian Criminal Code (Misappropriation committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale) against the former minister. Manager of Ptitsefabrika Mendeleevskaya LLC Andrey Belkin has been charged with the same article.
In 2015, the members of the organized crime group were acquitted by the Moscow Regional Military Court, however, subsequently, the sentence was revoked by the Supreme Court, and the case was joined with that related to two other members of the gang.
A federal judge other than retired Catherine Forrest will consider the case of Razhden Shulaya, who is charged with the creation of a criminal syndicate and other crimes, in the Federal District Court of the Southern District of New York.
