Ex-head of Altai region Governor’s department gained $44.000 on state contracts
The former official is charged with taking a bribe on an especially large scale.
Alexey Beloborodov, the former head of the Governor’s department of the Altai Territory, is arrested on suspicion of receiving a bribe of 2.7 million rubles ($39.600) from a local entrepreneur. Searches were carried out in the house of the ex-official, the press service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The agency specified that Beloborodov received a bribe in the form of property and services; he guaranteed the win of tenders.
It is referred to contracts for the fulfillment of works worth over 94 million rubles, which were signed between 2013 and 2016. A criminal case was initiated under part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Bribe-Taking on an especially large scale).
Recall, Beloborodov was also charged with abuse of official powers. According to the investigation, he illegally purchased cars worth 18 million rubles from the budget in 2017, after which he was dismissed.
"In the near future, criminal cases will be united, and the former official faces charges," the Ministry stated.
