Every ninth convicted of corruption in 2017 turned out to be law enforcer

871 persons of convicted in 2017 have worked in governmental and local government bodies.

In 2017, the courts issued verdicts of guilty over corruption against 12.200 people. 1300 of them turned out to be officers of law enforcement agencies, according to the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia public page in Vkontakte.

It was also noted that 871 persons of convicted in 2017 worked in governmental and local government bodies. There are 108 deputies of regional parliaments and municipal assemblies.

In January of this year, the Prosecutor General's Office published crime statistics in Russia for 2017. According to it, the cases over bribe-taking decreased by half as compared to the previous year, and the indications of wrongdoings of migrants working in Russia dropped too.
