Employee of penal colony in Novocheboksarsk was convicted for receiving bribe
The press-service of the Investigative Committee in Chuvash Republic reported that the former employee of colony in Novocheboksarsk was caught red-handed while taking a bribe.
It is reported that the employee of penal colony №3 agreed to smuggle two mobile phones into the prison and hand them over to one of the prisoners for a reward of five thousand rubles. On June 7th right after receiving the money he was detained by employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the Investigative Committee in Chuvashia.
On the fact of bribery criminal case was initiated. The employee of the colony was dismissed and later - fired.
The court ruled that the perpetrator has to pay a fine of 250 thousand rubles to the treasury, and deprived him of the right to hold positions in the public service for two years.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
