Details of criminal case against ex-Head of Chelyabinsk Region revealed
Testimonies against the former Governor, according to media, were given by ex-Minister of Health of the region Vitaly Teslenko, who is now serving sentence for bribe-taking.
On Thursday, March 16 the Investigative Committee reported about initiation of proceedings against former governor of Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Yurevich, who is incriminated taking of a bribe. The ICR does not specify neither size of the bribe, nor other details of the case. It is known only that a briber is former subordinate of Yurevich - Vitaly Teslenko who during the time of his governorship was holding a post of the Minister of Health of the region, and nowadays serving seven-year sentence for bribe-taking.
At the same time, as Znak.com writes with reference to sources, the bribe was given in 2012. Proceedings are initiated right now as Teslenko is being prepared for parole. As the source of the media declared, the condemned in loud ‘medical case’ has already given evidences against the former head for what he was not transported under guard in maximum security penal colony, and all this time safely stayed in the pre-trial detention center instead and now he is going to be released.
According to unofficial data, Teslenko declared in his testimonies that he gave to Yurevich a bribe in the amount of 500-700 thousand rubles ($8.500-12.000). “It is funny - billionaire Yurevich takes a bribe from his subordinate in half a million”, - a common joke on different websites. But, interlocutors of the media assume, that the case can be filled with other episodes as well.
At the same time, in Yurevich's environment everyone are sure that criminal case concerning the ex-Governor is brought after he became a witness on two another cases which are heard in the Chelyabinsk Region (ex-Senator Tsybko and ex-Vice Governor Nikolay Sandakov) now. Allegedly thus the former official try to make silent. One more version, however less realistic that criminal prosecution is the attack to Yurevich's business.
