Deputy senior physician of the Clinical Center n.a. Sechenov Elena Voronenkova is arrested by the Presnensky court for giving bribes to the secretary of the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow. According to the investigation, she paid for the falsification of the court decision on the right of apartment ownership. There are three other defendants under the investigation, including an official of the city department of property.
According to the investigation, the scam was planned after Voronenkova filed a lawsuit against the city property department to recognize the apartment ownership. Earlier, the department had revealed that the doctor acquired it illegally.
Realizing that the chances to win the trial were quite weak, Voronenkova appealed to a lawyer's assistant Pavel Davydov. He advised to discuss the matter with court secretary Lilia Bolonina, and she, in turn, agreed to falsify the court decision for 1.5 million rubles ($23.500). The property department had no to appeal the claim to a higher authority. For this purpose the doctor bribed department official Svetlana Nekrasovа, paying her a million rubles. The money was transferred through the intermediary of Davidov.
In May this year, Bolonina, as promised, prepared a decision, putting a signature for the judge. However, the ideal plan was defeated by the city property department. Despite all the efforts of Nekrasova, officials insisted on the appeal in the Moscow City Court. The scam was revealed when the judge found a false decision. After that, chairman of the Simonovsky District Court Vyacheslav Detishin ratted out the secretary in the law enforcement agencies.
The criminal case against Nekrasova and Bolonina was initiated under two articles - Swindling and Bribe-Taking. The case under bribe-giving was instituted against Voronenkova and Davydov’s intermediary. Now all the defendants are arrested.
