Deputy head of Novosibirsk Interior Ministry takes away subordinates' bonuses
The court found the policewoman guilty and appointed a suspended sentence.
The court in Novosibirsk issued a guilty verdict against the deputy head of the Interior Ministry's inquiry department, who took away her subordinates' bonuses. The woman received three years suspended, the local NGS portal reports.
According to the investigation, she was deprived of the bonuses in autumn 2017 but learned that her subordinates received payments. The deputy head told them about her situation and forced to give her some of the earned awards. In case of refusal, the woman stated that no one would receive payments at the New Year.
As a result, she asked 8000 rubles ($120) for two subordinates, two others had to pay out more substantial amounts – 17.400 rubles and 13.000 rubles, respectively. Employees of the fulfilled requirement and collected 47 thousand 800 rubles ($713).
The employee was charged with Extortion and Bribe-Taking (item (b), part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), but the court softened the charge, believing that there was no extortion.
The deputy head did not admit her guilt; she insists that the subordinates decided to give her money, knowing about her financial difficulties.
Soslan Dzhanaev, the goalkeeper of Kazan’s Rubin, has spoken in support of the football players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev, who had been placed under arrest until December 8 over two fights in Moscow that they had gotten involved in. He called for a fair punishment on his Instagram page.
