The high-ranking official has been placed under house arrest.

In the Krasnodar region, the deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture and his subordinates are accused of Bribe-Taking on an Especially Large Scale and Mediation in Bribery. This is reported by Yugopolis.

According to the investigation, one of the entrepreneurs requested a subsidy of 40 million rubles ($621,286) from the Ministry. Officials promised to help him in exchange of 4 million rubles ($62,128). It was the head of one of the departments who asked for the bribe, promising to transfer the money to the deputy minister, who was the chairman of the competition commission for the selection of participants in the program for the development of agriculture. The entrepreneur went to the police, after which the officials were detained.

The high-ranking official has been placed under house arrest by court decision. His name is not reported, but he is said to be Deputy Minister Kim Tertitsa. Investigators continue to establish all the circumstances surrounding the crime and the suspect’s alleged accomplices.
