Deputy Head of Kazan executive committee detained for bribe
A criminal case has been instituted against an official.
Deputy Head of the Kazan executive committee Ivan Kuznetsov was detained on suspicion of taking bribes, the press service of the regional ICR department said.
It is specified that a criminal case has been instituted against an official under Attempted Bribe-Taking by an official on an especially large scale (part 3 of Article 30 and part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to investigators, in May 2017 Kuznetsov demanded 500 thousand rubles ($8800) from a commercial organization for the unimpeded implementation of activities in the territory of the capital of Tatarstan. As the ICR noted, in the near future the issue of electing preventive punishment to Kuznetsov will be resolved.
We add that the post of Deputy Head of the Kazan executive committee Ivan Kuznetsov took in October 2013. The city administration has not commented on the official's detention.
The Kuybyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg is to consider the third case against Barsukov (Kumarin), as part of which he is charged with criminal community creation. Previously, the 'night governor of St. Petersburg' had been held in the Moscow's Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. It is also reported that Barsukov is to be questioned in the case of Galina Starovoytova's murder.
