Deputy head of Federal Tax Service in Rostov region to be placed in pre-trial detention center
Lawyers of the official will appeal the decision on her arrest.
Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service in the Rostov region, Irina Aleksandrova, has been arrested on the court decision and will spend the next two months in a detention center. Her preventive measure was elected by the Leninsky District Court of Rostov. Lawyers of the official have reported that they would appeal the decision on her arrest. This is reported by TASS.
To recall, Irina Aleksandrova was detained on May 24 after her house and workplace were searched. She is a suspect in the case of Exceeding Official Powers and Embezzlement of Budgetary Funds. She will face charges in the near future.
“It was established that despite the fact that the lower tax inspectorates had identified the criminal scheme of unjustified VAT refund, Aleksandrova canceled the decision to refuse to refund VAT to DIS LLC in the amount of 21 million rubles in violation of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, which led to the embezzlement of budget funds in the specified amount,” RIA Novosti’s source said.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
