Defense of ex-governor of Chelyabinsk Region appealed case initiation
Former official is incriminated bribe-taking in the amount over 26 million rubles.
Defense of the former governor of the Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Yurevich made a complaint in the Leninsky Court of Yekaterinburg about initiation of legal proceedings. Lawyers of the official accused of bribe-taking or the sum over 26 million rubles ask to recognize illegal actions of the investigator on the ground that they “violate constitutional rights” of the client.
“We ask court to oblige the head of the 4th investigation directorate (with dislocation in Yekaterinburg) of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee (which carries on the investigation of this case) to eliminate the allowed violations, stopping the criminal prosecution concerning (Mikhail) Yurevich”, the representative of defense told.
As the CrimeRussia wrote earlier, the former governor of the Chelyabinsk Region is suspected of commission of crimes under part 6 Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Bribe-taking) and part 4 Art. 33, part 2 Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Instigation to slander). Earlier the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that Mikhail Yurevich was systematically getting bribes from the Minister of Health of the Chelyabinsk Region Vitaly Teslenko, their total amount has made 26 million rubles. The investigation believes that Mikhail Yurevich incited first deputy Oleg Grachev to libeling about activity of the chairman of the Chelyabinsk Regional Court Fedor Vyatkin. Mikhail Yurevich denies all charges.
Preliminary hearings of the case pertaining to embezzlements committed during the construction of notorious Zenit Arena haven’t commenced yet – but the trial of Marat Oganesyan already ceased to be monotonous. The former Deputy Head of the St. Petersburg Municipal Administration has directly hinted at the involvement of his successor – current Vice Governor Albin – in the embezzlement of billions of rubles.
