Dagestani officials banned from traveling abroad
Dagestani high-ranking officials face the ban. It will be in effect until anti-corruption commission’s investigation termination.
High-ranking officials of Dagestan are banned from traveling abroad until the end of the interdepartmental commission on fighting corruption in the republic investigation, Interfax reports citing an informed source.
The ban applies to all senior officials of the republic, the source says.
Earlier, on February 7, it became known that almost all departments of Dagestan were searched. The staff of the Central Board of the Prosecutor General's Office, the FSB, the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs raided the regional Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, education authorities, the Federal Bailiff Service and other law enforcement agencies, including city and district departments. Moreover, all traffic police units are replaced by Rosgvardiya staff.
On the eve the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested former Acting Chairman of the Dagestani government Abdusamad Hamidov, his two deputies and the former Minister of Education of the republic. They are accused of major fraud (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code) with budgetary funds allocated for the implementation of social programs in Dagestan.
Not so much time has passed since the death of Igor ‘Adolf’ Minakov, and, as many predicted, the silent transition to possible successors of the funeral empire, which he built on the shoulders of his mobs, failed. The newly-emerging representatives of ritual services not only steal the bread from the mouths of former ‘royal subjects,’ but also control the city elections with their fists.
