Dagestan: criminal group found operating in branch of Cadastral Chamber and Federal Registration Service management

The officials made money illegally trade off federal land.

Investigators conducted searches at the offices of the Cadastral Chamber and the Federal Registration Service’s office in Dagestan and initiated a criminal case against an expert of the residential rights and state property items registration department, as well as other unidentified officials of the department and the Cadastral Chamber office. The expert is charged with embezzlement of state property in the amount of about 7 million rubles ($ 108.000), the regional ICR’s Investigative Directorate reports.

According to the investigators, in 2014 the suspect and his accomplices illegally alienated land plots in municipal and federal property and issued them to private individuals. At the end of 2017, the criminal group illegally registered the ownership of land plots with a total area of ​​6,600 sq. m. owned by the republic for five local residents, which caused damage amounting to about 7 million rubles.
