Criminal case initiated against Head of Penza MIA Office for Migration
According to the investigation, Colonel Eduard Gorokhov exceeded his official powers illegally providing public services to foreigners.
The ICR Investigations Directorate in the Penza region has initiated a criminal case against Head of the Office for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Penza region Eduard Gorokhov, Interfax reports.
Senior Assistant to Head of the regional ICR Investigations Directorate, Tatyana Makhnitskaya, told the agency that Police Colonel Eduard Gorokhov is suspected of Exceeding Official Powers (part 1 of Art. 286 of the Russian Criminal Code). According to her, the case of Gorokhov is connected with illegal actions when providing state services to foreign citizens.
It is reported that the criminal case against Gorokhov, who faces up to 4 years’ imprisonment, was initiated in the summer of 2018 when he was an official. According to Penza media sources, Eduard Gorokhov no longer works in the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The current Acting Head of the Office for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Penza region is Igor Mysyakov.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
