Court left FSO General Lopyrev in jail
The military court extended the detention of General of the Federal Security Guard Service (FSO) Gennady Lopyrev until 23 April.
The military court granted the petition of the investigation and extended the arrest of General of the FSO Gennady Lopyrev until 23 April, TASS reports with reference to the Chairman of the meeting. It is noted that hearings are held in closed session, as a number of case materials are classified as secret.
Meanwhile, the Lopyrev's protection has already said, it will challenge the decision.
Recall that the General is charged with receiving two bribes of 6.2 million rubles during conclusion a state contract for repair of the FSO's objects in Sochi. During a search of his apartment in Sochi 1 billion rubles was seized. Lopyrev, who became the highest-ranking employees of the intelligence services under investigation, does not admit his guilt.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
A serious and not at all political clash of interests is taking place at the Russian Federation Council. Kamchatka senators Valery Ponomarev and Boris Nevzorov are failing at deciding how to divide the Kamchatka water resources; both men make millions of dollars off of them every year.
