The person of interest confessed and cooperated with the investigation in the case of a bribe.
The Kolpinsky District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Ruslan Khamkhokov, a former head of the company that participated in the construction of the Kresty-2, the largest in Europe pre-trial detention center, to five years on probation. The defendant was found guilty of bribery in the total amount of not less than 388 million rubles ($ 5,9 million) and abuse of authority, TASS reports.

According to the investigators, from March 2010 to August 2015, head of Petroinvest Khamkhokov, through intermediaries, gave the former deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Sergey Moyseenko, bribes for general protection.
