After being detained for 48 hours, Anastasia Pestrikova was released without charge, and afterwards the Prosecutor General's Office found no corpus delicti in her actions.

Mother of Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko's child Anastasia Pestrikova appealed to the court, she demands to collect 3 million rubles ($53.200) from the state for illegal criminal prosecution.

"My client appealed to the court with a claim for compensation of moral harm caused by unlawful involvement in criminal proceedings. The amount claimed is 3 million rubles," says Pestrikova's lawyer Valerya Tunikova.

The lawyer also clarifies that the defendant in this case will be the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation represented by the Federal Treasury Department in Moscow.

"We consider the detention of Anastasia in Samara without any grounds, as well as her detention for 48 hours in an isolator on Petrovka in Moscow illegal. In addition, within almost two months after my client did not know her procedural status, and media reports caused significant reputational damage," Tunikova adds.

The Khamovniki court of Moscow has a pre-trial meeting on this case. The hearing will be held on March 5 at 2:00pm.

Recall, civil wife of the Colonel-billionaire Anastasia Pestrikova was arrested September 29, 2017, however, according to the press service of the court, she was not taken to court and the meeting did not take place. The next day, after the expiration of the 48-hour detention period, Pestrikova was released from custody under recognizance not to leave.

Initially, Pestrikova was suspected of attempting to steal $16 million belonging to her relative Lilya Gorshkova, but there was no sufficient reason for such a charge. At the same time, the arrest on $16 million was already imposed within the framework of the case of Colonel Zakharchenko.

Recall that ex-Deputy Head of the Department T GUEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Dmitry Zakharchenko, arrested in September 2016, is accused of taking bribes, abuse of official powers, and also hindering preliminary investigation. During the searches in the apartment of the Colonel's sister, his office and car more than $120 million and 2 million euros were seized.
