Chuvashia Deputy PM detained on suspicion of power abuse
According to investigators, Vladimir Avrelkin violated the law when providing subsidies from the republic’s budget.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Chuvashia, Vladimir Avrelkin, was detained on suspicion of abuse of office, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office reports.
The Investigative Dept of the Chuvash Republic's FSB initiated a case under the article Abuse of Power (part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the official.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, abuse in the provision of subsidies from the republican budget has become the ground for initiating the case and the Minister’s detention. At the moment, the measure of restraint for Avrelkin is being decided.
