According to investigators, a senior official received money from a local businessmen in return for the provision of land for a construction in the city center.
With regard to Chief Architect of the Voronezh Administration Anton Shevelev a criminal case is initiated for bribe-taking on an especially large scale, the press service of the regional ICR reported.
According to investigators, Shevelev has received several tranches from local entrepreneurs "for actions in the interest of business” from the beginning of 2016 till January 2017. The total amount, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 500 thousand rubles.
Employees of the ICR and the regional department of the FSB raided the place of residence and employment of the suspect.
Earlier, in the operational meeting, Voronezh Region Governor Alexey Gordeev called on law enforcement agencies to conduct a check into the construction of a cafe in the square near the railway station Voronezh-1, which disrupts the skyline of one of the iconic places of the city.
New details appear in the case against Samara prosecutor Andrei Pavlov. These details indicate close ties between the regional law enforcement system and criminal world. The main element of their relations is money. This confirms once again: neither reforms nor salary hikes for law enforcement officials can eliminate the trivial human greed. The main principle of corrupt officers is: if the position allows to make ‘side’ money, you must do so.
