Chairman of Saratov Social Protection Committee died being under house arrest
The official was charged with bribe-taking.
Head of the Saratov Social Protection Committee Dmitry Bunin died, being under house arrest. This is reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service.
They clarified that Bunin collapsed the day before; his relatives called an ambulance and warned the Ministry that the Head of the Committee was hospitalized.
On Tuesday evening, Bunin was taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save him - the official died on Wednesday morning. Other details are not specified.
Bunin was charged with receiving a bribe of more than 1 million rubles ($14.800). According to the investigation, he took money from suppliers of baby food for lobbying the interests of the commercial structure. Bunin gave confessions and was placed under house arrest in late August.
