Bryansk: Bezhitsky District Head Aleksandr Glot gets arrested
Aleksandr Glot is the second Bryansk district Head who had a criminal case opened against him in the last 2 weeks. Earlier, Artur Kireychenkov was accused of taking a bribe; a criminal case against him was opened on March 31.
On the morning of April 15, Bezhitsky District Head Aleksandr Glot was arrested on suspicion of abuse of official powers.
A criminal case against the public official was opened for breaking article 285, part 1 (Abuse of Official Powers) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to the Office of Investigations of the Russian Investigative Committee in the region. Bezhitsky District Head is suspected of ‘shielding’ local entrepreneurs.
Glot ‘shielded’ kiosks illegally placed in the District to help 2 entrepreneurs from May 2016 to April 2017, according to an investigation. The case against him was opened based on the information supplied by the Department of the FSB in the region.
The court ruled in favor of the investigation and placed Glot in prison, where he will wait for his trial.
May we remind you that the criminal case against Artur Kireychenkov was opened for breaking article 290, part 2 (Taking a Bribe by a Functionary on a Considerable Scale) of the Code 2 weeks ago. However, court released him on a 500,000-ruble bail.
