Acting chief of Amur MIA logistics detained on suspicion of bribery
According to investigators, the policeman accepted the money for signing acts of acceptance of work on the construction of a residential building for the agency’s employees.
The acting head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Amur Region is suspected of accepting a particularly large bribe (part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the press service of the investigation department of the ICR in the region reports. The high-ranking police officer and an intermediary who handed him the money have been detained by FSB officers.
According to the investigators, the suspect was rewarded for the “timely and unhindered” signing of acts of acceptance of work on the construction of an apartment building for the needs of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The policeman is in custody. The mediator has been placed under house arrest. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Amur region said that they began an official inquiry. If his guilt is proven, the police officer will be dismissed and prosecuted.
In June 2019, a criminal case was initiated against the detainee’s predecessor, Mikhail Robkanov. The former logistics officer was suspected of abuse of office. The damage from his actions was estimated at 56 million rubles.
