Accused of corruption Chelyabinsk ex-Governor promised to testify
The lawyer of former Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Yurevich, Igor Tiunov, tells the media that today, April 10, an ex-official will come to Yekaterinburg for questioning "with a high probability".
As the CrimeRussia previously reported, the investigators are waiting for Mikhail Yurevich to question him on criminal cases related to corruption and incitement to libel.
Meanwhile, the official himself is now outside of Russia. According to his lawyer, Mikhail Yurevich is undergoing treatment in Israel, but as a respectable citizen plans to appear for questioning after receiving the writ.
To recall, according to investigative authorities, Yurevich regularly received bribes from his subordinate - former Health Minister of the Chelyabinsk region Vyacheslav Teslenko in exchange for his patronage. The total amount of bribes is 26 million rubles ($456.700).
In addition, Yurevich instigated Oleg Grachev, appointed to the post of First Deputy Governor, to spread defamation about the activities of the Chairman of the Chelyabinsk Regional Court.
On April 4, the lawyers of the ex-Governor received the case materials - after the searches that had been carried out in Yurevich's cottage, they persistently sought their admission to participate in the process.
As for Mikhail Yurevich himself, he continues to insist on the absurdity of crimes, in the commission of which he is accused.
UK investigators believe they have identified the suspected perpetrators behind the Novichok nerve agent attack on the Skripals through CCTV and have cross-checked the footage with records of people who entered the country around that time.
