The court sentenced Maria Rebgun, the defendant did not admit guilt.
The Koptevsky District Court of Moscow sentenced granddaughter of YUKOS insolvency officer Eduard Rebgun Maria to 10 years and six months in a general regime colony, convicting him of the attempted murder and robbery of the boyfriend who left the girl. The killer, Vlad Gorbakovsky, got nine years of a strict regime colony. It is reported by RAPSI.
As the court found, Rebgun paid Gorbakovsky 150 thousand rubles ($2270) for the attack on her ex-boyfriend. At first, the girl asked only about the beating of a young man, and then allegedly offered to kill the victim.
On September 11, 2017, Gorbakovsky reached a 26-year-old victim at the entrance of a house on Koptevskaya Street. The offender struck 13 blows with an ax on the back and head and then stole a smartphone from the victim. Rebgun allegedly wanted to make sure that the guy did not correspond with other girls, MK says.
The guy survived, and the assailant and Rebgun were soon detained - the video surveillance camera recorded the crime. In addition to prison sentences, the defendants were obliged to pay the victim 600 thousand rubles in compensation for moral damage and more than 100 thousand rubles to cover the costs of treatment.
Eduard Rebgun is a well-known crisis manager, led the bankruptcy procedure of YUKOS of Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Svyaznoy CJSC, and he heads the board of directors of Business Lotsiya.
