Сourt arrests suspect in murder of businessman Kalmanovich
The alleged organizer of the murder was detained after the commitment.
The Presnensky District Court of Moscow arrested Zhabrail Kostoev, suspected of the murder of Russian-Israeli businessman Shabtai Kalmanovich, until June 28. The arrest of second suspect Ali Belkhoroev is extended for 72 hours for preparation to a second meeting, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the court.
In court, the investigator said that the organizer of the murder was also detained, but did not reveal his name.
Kalmanovich was shot dead in the car on November 2, 2009; the culprits fired about 20 bullets into the businessman. According to one version, the merchant had previously masterminded the murder of mob Vyacheslav Ivankov (Japonchik), and he was avenged. Kalmanovich's killers were wanted until 2011; then the investigation was suspended until 2018.
