November 29 Moscow law enforcement officers together with operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of Karachay-Cherkessia detained a man suspected of murdering two people on the square in Zelenograd, Moscow region, in 2007, REN TV reported.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the court decided to take him into custody.
According to the Information Portal of Zelenograd, the 42-year-old businessman Sergey Konkov and 33-year-old Andrey Ryabov were killed on July 23, 2007 on the square near Kryukovo railway station. At about 2 pm, an unknown person shot the men, who were at the trade stand between the railway platform and the bus stop. Presumably, the killer fired from a foreign-made submachine gun. The victims died on the spot from the injuries received. The murderer, who, according to eyewitnesses’ accounts, was wearing an orange vest, ran into the courtyard of the 8th microdistrict and hid from there by car.
The entrepreneurial activity of Konkov is considered as the main version of the murder. Officially unemployed Ryabov allegedly was his guard. The Investigative Committee of Russia stated that the detainee is being checked for involvement in other crimes on the territory of Moscow. His possible accomplices are being established.
