The North Caucasus District Military Court sentenced Artur Tambiev to 17 years in prison.
August 31th, the North Caucasus District Military Court sentenced Arthur Tambiev to the imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony. Earlier, the investigation has convinced the jury of the guilt of the arrested in the murder of the Vice-Prime Minister of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Ansar Tebuev. Another person involved in the case, Oleg Vanchenko, was found not guilty.
According to investigators, three killers - Arthur Tambiev, Oleg Vanchenko and Atam Achmiz - shot Tebuev’s car. The officer died on the spot from injuries.
Recall that the jury has made a decision with respect to all three participants of the murder in July 2015. Then Vanchenko, Achmiz were found not guilty and Tambiev received 17 years colony. Later, however, the sentence for all three was canceled by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Currently Achmiz is in the federal wanted list.
UK investigators believe they have identified the suspected perpetrators behind the Novichok nerve agent attack on the Skripals through CCTV and have cross-checked the footage with records of people who entered the country around that time.
