Cheboksary MP who masterminded murder of business partner stands trial
The testimony against the mastermind was given by the failed killer, who was detained by the FSB officers at the crime scene.
A criminal case against the 41-year-old deputy of the Cheboksary City Assembly, Evgeny Andreev, was transferred to the Moskovsky District Court of Cheboksary.
The MP is accused of the attempt to organize the murder (part 2 of Article 105, part 3 of Article 33 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and part 3 of Article 137 of the Criminal Code), the ICR in Chuvashia reports.
According to investigators, the 41-year-old defendant clashed with his business partner, with whom he co-founded the two companies. Within a month, Andreev collected information about the private life of his companion and then gave it to the killer. The deputy found a 29-year-old resident of the Sverdlovsk region to fulfill the order.
On the evening of December 25, 2017, the killer met with the target of the assassination and offered 50.000 rubles for saving life informing of the masterminded murder. However, he lured the victim to a deserted place and fired a shot, but missed, because he was prevented by FSB officers. The killer tried to shoot back but was neutralized and detained. During the interrogation, he called the name of the customer, after which a criminal case was initiated against Evgeny Andreev.
It should be noted that the investigation into the attempted murder is ongoing; deputy Evgeny Andreev was sentenced to 3 years suspended on another criminal case of fraud in September 2018 by the Krasnoarmeysky District Court of Chuvashia. Andreev was convicted of embezzling more than 970 thousand rubles ($14.800) using forged documents for the construction of the municipal road.
